The race to build the ultimate home robot just took another step forward, and this one wants to do a lot more than sit on your countertop.
China-based robotics company Enabot has officially unveiled the EBO Max, its most advanced family companion robot yet. Designed to move, learn, and adapt inside the home, the new bot is aiming to combine security camera, smart assistant, and emotional support gadget into a single rolling device.
At the center of EBO Max is what the company calls a new AI “brain.” Unlike basic smart home devices that respond to simple commands, this system is built around multimodal perception, meaning it can process what it sees, hears, and senses in its environment all at once. The goal is to create a robot that doesn’t just react, but actually understands what’s happening around it and adjusts its behavior accordingly.
That difference becomes clear the moment you compare it to something like a stationary smart camera or speaker. EBO Max doesn’t stay put. It moves through the home on its own, navigating from room to room to find people, check on pets, or investigate unusual activity. If something changes, then it can alert users in real time.
The mobility also opens the door to more complex tasks. Owners can assign jobs remotely, communicate through voice, or set up routines that the robot carries out automatically. Over time, the system builds a kind of long-term memory of the household, learning patterns and preferences so it can respond more naturally as it gets familiar with daily life.
There’s also a strong focus on connection. With two-way video and 4K imaging, EBO Max doubles as a mobile communication hub, letting users check in on family members or pets from anywhere. It’s just as much about presence as it is about utility.
That framing reflects a broader trend in consumer robotics. Companies aren’t just trying to automate tasks anymore. They’re trying to build machines that feel like part of the household. EBO Max is clearly designed with that vision in mind: a robot that doesn’t just help manage your home, but lives in it alongside you.
The device is now available for pre-order through the company’s website, priced at $599.99 with a limited launch discount.
