Fauna Robotics Acquired By Amazon

On March 24, 2026, Amazon.com, Inc. acquired Fauna Robotics Inc. Fauna Robotics Co-founder and CEO Rob Cochran officially announced the acquisition on LinkedIn.

Cochran wrote, “I am incredibly excited to share that Fauna Robotics has officially joined the Amazon family. When we launched in NYC back in February 2024, we set out with a clear mission: to ‘build capable, safe, and fun robots for everyone.’ Looking back at how far we’ve come in just two years, I am immensely proud of everything our team has accomplished.”

Cochran also clarified that Fauna would still be selling the Sprout Creator Edition robots to new customers. Fauna will also continue to provide support to all our existing customers. Fauna will begin operating as Fauna Robotics, an Amazon company and is actively hiring.

Earlier this year, Fauna launched a new product called Sprout, which is a humanoid robotics development kit. Sprout is described as “a complete hardware and software platform for creating capable, safe, and fun applications for everyday human environments.”

Sprout is said to “bring bipedal mobility, expressive interaction, and manipulation together in a lightweight, durable, and beautiful package. Its 29-DoF body, natural voice interface, and soft, human-centric design make it ideal for deploying robots in the same environments people live and work.”

Sprout is three and a half feet tall and weighs 50 pounds. Sprout retails for $50,000.
