Faraday Future Pushes ‘Embodied AI’ Vision With New Robotics Lab and State Support

Faraday Future opened its doors to California officials this week as the company continues to position itself at the intersection of electric vehicles and robotics.

The Los Angeles–area startup, Faraday Future, hosted California State Treasurer Fiona Ma at its El Segundo headquarters on April 16, marking the first time a state-level official has visited the company’s facilities. The visit also included Chris Pimentel, former state senator Steven Bradford, and former California Assembly Majority Leader Ian Calderon.

The centerpiece of the visit was the unveiling of Faraday Future’s new EAI Robotics Education & Innovation Lab, part of the company’s broader push into what it calls an “Embodied AI” ecosystem. The lab is intended to serve as a hub for robotics education and development in California, with early collaboration interest coming from the Lynwood Unified School District.

“This was my first time here visiting FF, I was very impressed with everyone I met and everything I saw, from the robots to their cars. The technology is here, it is going to make our lives easier and more efficient,” said Treasurer Ma. “I want to thank FF for locating your HQ here in El Segundo, and for building your cars in Hanford, CA, and creating both engineering and manufacturing jobs. With your help, I hope California will soon become the 3rd largest global economy in the world.”

Beyond the ceremony, discussions between Faraday Future and local officials focused on how the company’s robotics products could be integrated into public sector procurement systems, including schools and other institutions. Talks also covered potential expansion of AI and robotics programs in education, as well as infrastructure needed to support large-scale data collection and training for physical AI systems.

During the visit, the company demonstrated a range of robotic capabilities tied to its “Three-in-One” ecosystem strategy, which combines devices, data, and AI systems. Demonstrations included humanoid and bionic robots performing tasks such as object manipulation, security patrol, and interactive educational programming. Faraday Future said it is also developing a “data factory” model designed to continuously train and improve these systems through real-world deployment.

Officials were also given a hands-on look at the company’s vehicles, including the FF 91 2.0 Futurist Alliance and the upcoming FX Super One, which are positioned as part of a broader “Robot & Vehicle +” product ecosystem.

Founder and co-CEO Jia Yueting described the visit as a sign of growing government recognition for the company’s approach, emphasizing its dual focus on vehicles and robotics as a foundation for future growth.
